Kelowna Ultimate is looking for nominations for the annual Steve Cox Legacy Award that looks to award an outstanding individual for their efforts in helping to promote and enrich Kelowna Ultimate and its leagues, teams, and members. Nominations will be accepted until the end of March and can be sent to Josh Bernot at jbernot@gmail.com. Further criteria for the award can be found below:
The Steve Cox Legacy Award was created in honour of the vision, hard work, spirit and perseverance shown to grow the Kelowna Ultimate Players Society, a league which is amazingly spirited, welcoming to new members, creates talented competitive teams, supports touring members, and enriches the physical and social lives of over 300 members. The Steve Cox Legacy Award is to be awarded to one current or former KUPS member each year that shows or has shown a passion for the sport of ultimate and spreads this passion for the sport.
Submission and Evaluation Process
Nomination submissions will be accepted in electronic form and should include the nominee name, a 250 word or less nomination letter and other supporting information (articles, clippings, etc.) Nominations will be solicited until the end of March 2013 and can be sent to Josh Bernot at jbernot@gmail.com. Nominations will be evaluated by an elected subcomittee.
Eligibility and Judging Criteria
Eligibility:
- All current or past members of KUPS are eligible;
Judging Criteria:
- This award should be given to members who have contributed to the advancement of both the spirit and sport of ultimate in Kelowna, who have a passion for the sport and share their passion with new members;
- The recipient may have volunteered with KUPS in some capacity, but this is not a necessity; and,
- The judging process rewards spirit of the game over and above talent for the sport.
